FAQs About Commercial Property Law

Go to our FAQs Property Law page for more questions we’ve already answered.

  • Commercial property law usually involves more complex regulations and larger-scale transactions. It focuses more on business use rather than personal occupancy. It may also cover special considerations like building codes specific to business operations, zoning regulations and tenant-landlord disputes.

  • While not legally required, hiring a lawyer for a commercial lease is highly recommended. With a commercial property lawyer by your side, you can have a professional negotiate favourable terms, review the lease agreement, ensure compliance with regulations, and protect your interests during the transaction.

  • Key considerations include zoning regulations, property conditions, environmental issues, and potential for future development or expansion. Our seasoned commercial property lawyers can guide you through these considerations and perform due diligence before closing a property sale on the Sunshine Coast.

  • A commercial lawyer is a legal professional specialising in business-related matters, including leasing a commercial property, purchasing an office building or any other commercial property transactions. They advise on various aspects of business law, including contracts, leases, property acquisitions, and regulatory compliance. Talk to one of our commercial property lawyers to learn more.

  • A conveyancer is a licensed professional specialising in the legal aspects of property transfers. They can handle standard property transactions but are limited in the scope of legal advice they can provide. A conveyancing lawyer, on the other hand, is a fully qualified solicitor who can offer broader legal advice and handle more complex property matters, including those that may involve litigation or nuanced commercial property law issues.
